Tomáš Šťastný

Tomáš Šťastný’ is a Director of Photography based in Prague. His fascination with the visual world began early on, leading him to pursue a Master’s degree in Film from Prague’s prestigious FAMU. During his studies, his talent shone through, earning him recognition including the highly regarded CAMERIMAGE selection for his short film “Lehká.” His work transcends mere visuals; it reflects a deep curiosity about the world. Films like “A Pale Blue Dot” reveal his enduring interest in science and philosophy, weaving these themes into captivating narratives.

In addition, he finds enjoyment in exploring other creative endeavors within the realms of commercial and music video production. Among his work you can find commercials for brands such as IKEA, Adidas, AEG, Škoda and many others. Beyond his dedication to the craft, Tomáš is inspired by photography & architecture, likes graphic design & diving. He is a member of the Association of Czech Cinematographers and currently works on 3 feature films. Tomáš finds inspiration in the works of Terrence Malick and Darren Aronofsky.
